“I was that kid that never smiled in photographs. I would make stupid faces and ruin pictures. I’ve never been the ‘pretty’ face.” ELIZABETH OLSEN

Which is always good news. Uni assignment deadlines have finally calmed down but I know as soon as next week starts it’s gonna be wild again ! However I’m really enjoying this little breather only except I’ve a heck of a lot of photoshopping to do and I am a proper photoshop amateur/n00b anything below that is my experience with it. Last semester I basically didn’t learn anything but I guess practice makes perfect so I’m hoping after this assignment I’ll have learnt the basics.
Today we had a guest lecture from a man who’s been in the industry for quite some time. a lot of it was interesting but what stood out to me was that even if you’re the most amazing designer you’re not necessarily gonna do well in industry because a whole lot of the time you’re constrained to patents and briefs and money. a lot of it was pretty overwhelming and on the way back to the city I was talking to N and Z. what if we don’t get jobs? Pretty scary. I don’t want to be the kid in my class who has to spend the rest of their lives just doing logos or something (not that thats a bad job). So I guess it’s made me realize I need to try a lot harder. I’m actually rather pumped for the next brief in studio c:
I’m happy that mum, dad and boo are happy on their cruise (well in boo’s case as happy as she can be without me keke~)
One down side is tonsillitis kills ! eating is so difficult ! I popped off the bus in the city and then went over to book myself a doctor’s appointment I was fortunate enough that someone had cancelled and I only had to wait 40mins so I did a quick grocery shop and went back to the surgery. I properly thought I was gonna be late but with a bit of brisk speed walking I was just in time but it turns out it didn’t matter cause they run behind schedule for about 30mins so I didn’t actually get to see the doc till 2:50pm and my appointment was at 2:10pm but no biggy. My surgery is above Boots so I just went downstairs to get my anti biotics and I had to wait for 10-15mins so I had a browse at the make up. I’m on the hunt for a new BB cream and since now it’s come to the UK I wanted to check out a “western brand”. I usually use “asian brands”. A make up artist saw me browsing and we started talking about BB creams and she was so excited. I’m no beauty/make up expert but it was cool to discuss and slowly a group of other make up artists and people joined in our discussion. Makes my heart smile that there are such friendly people around and just the whole aura reminds me of home c:
They had three brands in Boots that have launched a BB cream. The most popular one is probably Garnier’s.

I tried it and it’s nice and very similar to stuff I’ve used before but I felt it was too greasy for my liking. Loreal has recently launched it’s BB cream promoting it as nude make up. The face of the range was Doutzen Kroes whom I love so I was like waow need to try and I know it’s probably edited but doesn’t she look amazing?

It gave a lot better coverage but after a while I realised the patch on my hand where I swatched got real dry and slightly cakey which isn’t fab. It’s the same price as Garnier’s at £9.99 which is really good but they just didn’t match the likes of Etude House or my all time favorite Innisfree. I finally tried No.7’s stab at it and it seems to be a happy medium between the prior, for me.

They have a larger choice for different skin types in two different shades where as Loreal and Garnier just have two shades. She gave me a sample for me to check out for a few days which was kind and I’m excited to try it out properly. On my way back tp the flat I passed Harvey Nichol’s and I had to pop in to check out Shu Uemura. I’ve used there products before and I’ve found it suits my skin. Had a super long chat with the make up artist there as she helped me choose some options. They don’t have a BB cream but after a look at foundations and primers she offered me the BBmousse and it was very like their foam primer which I currently use and love.

It’s got primer and coverage with the BB aspect so it sounded in theory good.
She asked me if she could do my make up and I was like heck why not. After I was like OMGHHKP ! Gosh~ I love this product ! She hid my tired eyes without me looking like I’ve caked on a heck load of concealer and she just perfected all my flaws without me looking like I have make up on. It was very “no make up make up” which is up my street. The only bad thing is it’s just under triple the price of L’oreal and Garnier but I guess that’s the difference between high street and more high end also just look at the difference in packaging ! Another thing was they’re out of stock and there’s a long waiting list but I’m on it now and they should be stocked next week which will be good as I’m going shopping and lunch with G on Wednesday c:
I was so chuffed when my floormate P complimented on my appearance haha
The magic of make up !
Ps How hott is this? I want this one but it’s more than likely sold out :c
